We inaugurate our section “It’s Friday” talking about health.

Talking about health and how a good rest can increase productivity.

We will talk about the benefits of a good rest on our health and the guidelines to follow to wake up every day with the desire to work with the peace of mind that everything is under control.

The benefits for our health ar many- The recommended sleep time for adults by the OMS is 7 to 9 hours a day and, one very important thing, naps should be a maximum of 20 minutes!

– Sleep restores physical and mental health

– Sleeping the necessary hours prevents overweight and weight control protects our heart.

– It helps us feel fitter, helps us have better concentration and memory during the day.

– Our body relaxes while we sleep and produces hormones that help us feel happier. Conversely, in situations of insomnia, stress-related hormones (adrenaline and cortisol) increase in the blood, which increases blood pressure and heart rate.

– Sleep deprivation makes it difficult to learn and perform tasks, so rest increases our productivity at work.

– It helps the immune system to function properly.

– BEDROOM: It should have a cosy atmosphere. The bed is the centre of the room, so it should have a firm mattress, a duvet that is not too heavy and sheets with a soft texture that should smell good (essential oils or use an air purifier). Surround yourself with large cushions to maintain an upright posture. Wear comfortable pyjamas, make sure that light and noise do not bother you and that the temperature is pleasant, and make your bed every day because when you come in at night to rest you will be very grateful!

– TV, MOBILE PHONES AND TABLETS: Forget about them at bedtime because the blue light emitted by these devices alters the sleep cycle by interacting with the production of melatonin, a hormone that helps you rest. You should turn them off about 2 hours before going to sleep. Get into bed with a good book, listen to music or take the opportunity to meditate!

– EXERCISE: It is good to do physical exercise, but not just before going to sleep.  Avoid stimulating drinks, alcohol and heavy meals during the day.

– ROUTINE: It is good to keep a routine every day, including weekends. We should always go to bed and get up at the same time.

– WORK: It is forbidden to take work to bed, papers, computer or anything else related to work.

VIPPA-BCN hopes that you include these routines in your goals for 2022 and you know that if you have any pending tasks that you have to take to bed you can delegate part of them to us and be able to achieve the goal of a perfect rest.

The boys: First season in Amazon Prime Video

Yesterday, July 23, 2019, we attended the premiere of the TV series “The Boys” that will present its first season next Friday in Amazon Prime Video.

A TV series based on the comic “The Boys” by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson presents us a cruel, corrupt and godless superheroes who use their powers irresponsibly putting many people in danger in a society where everything is allowed, as long as they are trying to save a life.

We find it a very interesting TV series because of the similarities with our current society and the celebrity we are creating to those we have deified so much that they believe they can act as they please. Everything has a price and if you want to join the group you will have to jump through the hoop.

We all know the human and superhuman part of superheroes. You can’t miss the inhuman part!

Magnolia Bakery and Bingo Brunch will be installed for a month in Barcelona.

From Friday 14 June until 14 July, an exclusive space opens its doors in the Hotel 1898.

In addition, Bingo Brunch arrives in Barcelona for the first time. A new format directed by a drag queen who will sing the numbers to the audience while they enjoy a spectacular New York brunch, accompanied by cocktails and a DJ.

VIP AfterWork Event. Barcelona Aquarium

Yesterday VIPPA-BCN was invited to the VIP Afterwork event held at the Aquarium of Barcelona.

A great reception and after the identifications, we deposited in a fishbowl our business card to enter in the draw of; A bath among sharks!

After the identification we entered the enclosure. A walk through an environment full of nature and all the species of fish you can imagine, octopus, tropical fish and poisonous fish, a great catwalk where the great bull shark walked, among others. You walked submerged between sharks and other species and where they explained to us what the name of dorada comes from, they showed us the moray eels and taught us how to distinguish between a male and female shark.

We ended the visit in a large room surrounded by fish and penguins where a brunch with good music took place. Vegetarian burgers that looked like meat, foie baskets, ham with square beaks and fritters of Manchego cheese, among other delicacies and to finish the afternoon, the draw for the bath between sharks and; Don’t you know who were the lucky ones?

We can’t wait for the day. What a great experience!

We would like to thank the Aquarium of Barcelona for the invitate as it was a very pleasant afternoon and full of surprises because they have a lot of unforgettable experiences that you can not miss. If you have something to celebrate, contact us at info@vippa-bcn.com

Vincent Van Gogh in Barcelona

Yesterday, March 14, the “Meet Vincent van Gogh Experience” was inaugurated in the Port Vell of Barcelona and VIPPA-BCN was there.

This 90-minutes walk is based on the knowledge and experience of the Van Gogh Museum. An itinerant 3D experience that invites visitors to travel through the fascinating life of Vincent van Gogh. It explores the history of the man behind the painter and the motifs of his art.

The visit is made through an audio guide and through life-size projections of works, photographs and film fragments, detailed reproductions, interactive multimedia and applications, stage theatrical pieces, audiovisual scenes and quotations from more than 800 letters. The audio guide brings to life numerous figures: Vincent van Gogh himself, his brother Theo, his sister-in-law Jo Bonger, his parents and other key players.

Surrounded by theatrical scenes from places such as the Parisian café Le Tambourin, the Saint-Rémy hospital where Van Gogh was for a while in and the Yellow House in Arles, visitors are transported back to key places in Vincent’s life. Reproductions of Van Gogh’s palette and other materials are true to real life. You can use a perspective frame like Vincent’s, and even the famous pair of shoes depicted in one of his famous works has been faithfully reproduced.

In the opening scene, you find yourself in the middle of the wheat field where Van Gogh was mortally wounded. Alarmed by a gunshot that sounds, you see crows fluttering in the sky, you feel the Provencal breeze and you hear Van Gogh’s voice quoting one of his last letters to his brother Theo. You become an integral part of this realistic scene.

It’s a complete experience where education and entertainment go hand in hand and you can enjoy it until June 2, 2019.

You can’t miss it!

Etihad Airways will launch a new service to Barcelona

Etihad Airways has announced the introduction of a new regular service between Abu Dhabi and Barcelona, starting November 21, 2018. The route will initially be operated five times a week by a two-class Airbus A330-200 before becoming a daily operation on 31 March 2019.

Barcelona will become the second city in Spain served by Etihad Airways, complementing the airline’s current daily service to the capital, Madrid. The new link will provide business and leisure travellers with convenient timetables for travel between Abu Dhabi and Barcelona, as well as providing seamless connections through Abu Dhabi to major cities in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, China, Japan, Korea and Australia.

Peter Baumgartner, Managing Director of Etihad Airways, said: “As one of the largest unserved markets in our Abu Dhabi base, Barcelona – a centre of culture, commerce, tourism, education, fashion and science – has witnessed a significant increase in demand for emirate travel, and for our entire network.

“We are delighted to announce the first direct link between these two major global centres. We are confident that it will be very popular with the UAE and customers in Barcelona, allowing us to extend our acclaimed flight service, hospitality and style to this vibrant Mediterranean city, and build on the flourishing cultural and commercial ties between the UAE and Spain.

The new service will be launched in time for the start of the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix Etihad Airways 2018, the largest sporting event in the Middle East, to be held from 23-25 November at the 5.55-kilometre-long Yas Marina circuit in the capital.

Etihad Airways has an extensive code-share partnership with Air Europa (UX) on the Spanish airline’s scheduled services from Madrid to Barcelona and 18 other major European cities.
